Our team earned a Transport for London London Underground Beacon award for good practice in site management on the project. It followed a number of unannounced HSQE inspections, during which we exceeded expectations every time.

The London Underground lead construction manager for Four Lines Modernisation (4LM) said:

You should all be very proud! My thanks to your team for their commitment to reaching this milestone. It shows a real will to succeed with LU in raising the bar with regard to safety.

The Beacon award scheme recognises suppliers who demonstrate outstanding performance in health and safety. Transport for London only awards this accolade to contractors who consistently demonstrate a commitment to improving and maintaining high standards of health and safety.

The Beacon scheme is based on the Considerate Constructors Scheme, with higher standards and additional requirements for the rail environment.

SSR project

The project was part of the SER framework managed by London Underground’s Four Lines Modernisation (4LM) team to refurbish or new build at almost 50 locations.

All the signalling equipment rooms are being installed in for the sub-surface railway (SSR) project which was recently awarded to Thales by London Underground.
